Freeman District Writing
The Freeman District writing assessment is about to begin. Every student will participate in a grade-level writing assessment, and will be allowed accommodations according to individual IEPs.
In academics and in the world of employment, writing is often a process that spans more than one day. Revision and editing is a process. Our assessments will reflect the same principles. Therefore, the writing assessment in each class is to begin on a Monday and be due on Friday of the same week. All work is to be done at school. No work outside of the classroom is allowed. Teachers are not to help with this piece of writing; it is to be a reflection of the skills and knowledge held by each student.
Grades 3 through 12 will be assessed between February 10 and March 27. Grades K-2 will write in April. The junior’s assessment is the writing assessment on the ACT, which is March 23. The senior research paper will be the senior’s writing assessment.
