FREeman Student COuncil 2021-2022
FRESCO
We are gearing up for another great year with some awesome FRESCO members. This year, we had 21 applicants in grades 4 through 6 all wanting to be a part of our Freeman Elementary Student Council. The process for applying includes, submitting an application as well as teacher recommendations for the candidates. Once applications were submitted, candidates then qualified to campaign, which included hanging posters vying for their peers’ votes. Candidates were then asked to give a 1-3 minute speech in front of the K-6 student body, sharing why they should earn a vote. We have three officer positions available for our 5th and 6th graders and 4th-6th graders could run for class representatives.
Our 2021-2022 FRESCO team includes: Allie Bruns (President), Adison Otto, Presleigh Borgman (Secretary), Bradyn Floth (Vice President), Eli Jensen, Ayden Parde, Jaydyn Pella, Macy Stanley, Leyna Ahlschwede, Bree Bredemeier, and Deighton Dorn.
FRESCO held their first monthly meeting on September 16th and planned out Red Ribbon Week activities and Support Breast Cancer Awareness Day for the month of October. Our 5th and 6th grade FRESCO members will be participating in the Leadership Conference at Doane University next month, as well. We have an awesome community project in the works and we are looking for a community member to help partner with, to help build something small to put in the community. If you have woodworking skills and would like to partner with our FRESCO members to bring our vision to life, please email Mrs. Lindsey Israelson (lisraelson@freemanschools.net).
